Cravin’ offers Gourmet Home Dinning Food Boxes - they are stocked full of local and ethically sourced pre-made meals. Great for busy families, people who want fast, convenient meals that also contribute to our community and environmental footprint.
Selena had been running a cooking school for two years pre-pandemic and had experience with people that didn’t know how to cook nutritional meals or simply didn’t have the time or energy to do so. Once the pandemic hit, many people were remotely working from home, homeschooling and staying indoors. Some even were left with no food meal assistance at all. Selena started to see more advertising for food box services and noted that these services still required most of the preparation work to be done - not ideal for everyone. A targeted market was being missed as many people were looking for time saving dinners that were still nutritious, delicious , local and environmentally friendly.
Selena loves Kingston and its small unique shops and businesses across the city which set them apart from larger corporations. Small businesses are the heart and soul of Kingston and represent community, respect, dreams and hope for not only a better city but a better world. You can go into any small local business and be greeted with knowledge, respect and kindness.
Selena loves the food industry, and in her own words: “ The food industry is always changing. It goes through fads, trends, goes back to traditions, classic methods and so on but one thing that has always intrigued me is its ability to bring people together. In any circumstance the food industry has this strength to bring people together in times of grief and celebration. The food industry can represent more than just "food" it represents togetherness. I think that's really powerful, especially during these times.”
