The idea to open Kaufmann Photography came after relocating from overseas to Kingston. After living abroad teaching for eight years and seeing the world through a camera lens, I fell in love with the city and its unique vibe. The boutique business scene and strong network of women was appealing. I realized there was a niche in offering an end to end experience with a focus on creating stronger and more confident women in the process.

After 15 years in business, in 2022 I moved the studio into a custom built space in the Woolen Mill featuring a beauty bar, client lounge, wardrobe closet, big screen TV, and 3-5 shooting bays. It is a professional yet welcoming retreat-type of experience that inspires women (& men) to be the best version of themselves and embrace their strengths, beauty and potential. You will feel like a model in a magazine for a day within a safe space where you feel beautiful regardless of age, stage in life, or dress size. As a bonus we will create stunning heirloom wall art and albums that will become some of the most special memories for your loved ones.

I now employ a full time studio assistant, part time hair and make up artist, and a part time event planner and I am bringing teaching back through workshops and mentoring. It would be a disservice to not share this incredible studio space with the community so I am excited to also share it with you through select private event rentals including workshops, retreats and intimate parties.

My desire to fill this 'end to end' portrait studio void, along with my passion for empowering women and creating beautiful heirloom portraits continues to grow and evolve.
