TRAILHEAD Kingston
Trailhead has been in business in Kingston since 1995. Chris Ellis joined Trailhead in 2013 and recently took over as the business owner. Currently they have 14 employees who vary from Queens grad students, avid rock climbers, seasoned hikers and streak runners, like Tyler the floor manager, who has run everyday for 30 years, his streak starting January 1, 1990!
Trailhead Kingston sells a wide range of products designed to get people outside. From hiking shoes to raincoats, snowshoes to Stand Up paddle boards, and everything in between they strive to have all of their customer needs fulfilled. Chris says “in the last 2 years I have seen a lot of new people wanting to experience the outdoors so it is important to educate safety and best practices for enjoying nature”.
In addition to carrying top quality gear, Trailhead takes great pride in earing multiple International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling (ISEAL), including nods for living wage, sustainable transportation, carbon footprint and more (refer to their website for the full impressive list).
In addition to the importance they place on being responsible corporate citizens and they find it very fulfilling to help someone gear up for their trip and then for them to come back and tell the team all about their adventure.
