Michelle Branscombe started Branscombe Design Co in 2017 after finishing maternity leave with her youngest son, when she decided to leave her full-time job to stay home and pursue a career as an entrepreneur.
Being a full-time Mom, Michelle spent a lot of time at home and believes that people are happier when they love their space. It was important for her to have a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable space, that was uniquely “us”, and she wanted to help provide the same for others.
With a background in marketing, and a love for graphic design and home décor, Michelle jumped in with both feet, or as she says “Ok, I waddled in slowly, with a toddler on my leg and a baby on my chest”.
When the pandemic hit, craft shows were cancelled, local retail shops closed, and Michelle needed to adapt quickly to continue to thrive. She immediately launched an online platform and leaned into e-commerce to reach her local customers. She realized that so many people were spending more time than ever inside their homes and with all the chaos and uncertainty in the world, she wanted to serve the community by helping create spaces that were cozy, comfortable, and beautiful.
Michelle now ships products across Canada and the US, and you can find Branscombe Design Co pieces in several stores across Ontario, as her small business continues to grow and expand in the market.
